Judges Comments - Landscape of the Year
This year's winner of Landscaping Victoria's Landscape of the Year symbolises the complexity of projects the landscape
industry is required to build, whilst mastering exacting timelines, complex project management require-ments and quality
construction techniques and processes required by the client.Australian Native Landscape Construction is to be commended
on the Royal Children's Hospital Project. Completed on time, within a six month period, the construction team overcame
a myriad of challenges to deliver an outstanding result. The Royal Children's Hospital Project required in-depth planning,
intimate knowledge of the project requirements, higher contingency planning than normally required and unfaltering commitment
from all involved to ensure the project's success. The professionalism demonstrated undertaking this project should be
acknowledged as a bench-mark in the landscape industry.Viewing this project from photos alone doesn't do justice to the
complexities and logistical challenges it presented to the contractor.Congratulations to Australian Native Landscape
Construction on winning Landscape of the Year 2011.
Judges Comments - Commercial Landscape of the year over $500,000
The Royal Children's play, therapy, interactive and healing spaces are a wonderful place for the kids and their parents to
spend while the kids are treated and recover their health. These are wonderfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces that
have been constructed to the utmost standard and quality within a very tight time frame. The extreme logistics and high
degree of difficulty have been managed superbly by a very dedicated, conscientious and proud landscaping team. Well done.
