John Logan Foundation

ANLC is a corporate sponsor of the John Logan Foundation.

The Foundation raises funds in order to give the "Gift of Hope". The gift is a grant towards treatment of cancers of the digestive system, which can occur anywhere from the throat to the rectum. The grant is aimed at those who are unable to afford the treatment due to some of the medicines not being available on the government PBS system. In 2009, Farrah Fawcett passed away as a result of just such a cancer. Unlike her, digestive cancers are not well known, not often discussed and are difficult to diagnose. Such cancers grow very quickly in this environment. John Logan, like Farrah Fawcett, was not diagnosed until it was too late and sadly passed away in July 2008 at the very young age of 46.

ANLC, with the help of landscape architect Mike Phillips of Site Image and numerous suppliers, offered a garden make-over which was auctioned off at the Foundation's Gala Ball held on 9 August 2010. The Gala Ball raised over $60,000 of which the garden make-over raised $11,250. The money raised is enough to give between 20 to 30 people treatment.

Everyone at ANLC passionately supports cancer foundations and is very proud to have been involved in the John Logan Foundation.
